Just back from the best weekend ever. We stayed in the George Hotel in Newcastle. The rooms were basic but very clean; there was unlimited number of towels available to us and anything we asked for was not a problem. We had breakfast every morning and it was really nice. John the bar manager was professional and well presented he couldn’t do enough for us. We had dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday night and it was as good as any other restaurant I have eaten in. Just to let all you people know that shriek doesn’t work there anymore. Don’t believe all you read & give this place a chance you wont regret it. Thanks to John & Meg for making our stay a memorable one. We had the best weekend ever. See you again in Feb

Did the job for our stag do…
Stayed here as part of a stag weekend. The hotel looks nice from the outside and the bar and eating areas are modern and pleasant. The rooms we stayed in (party of 17 split between four rooms) were at the back of the hotel. To be honest they did the job required of them, the bathroom was fine and the beds were comfy. Not luxurious but for the price it was fine. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was fine and the bar stays open 24hrs. All in all a good venue for a stag party/hen do, perhaps not too good if you are after a romantic getaway with your partner. Location wise the hotel is about a 10min cab ride into the city centre with a cab rank outside the hotel which was handy. Newcastle is a fantastic city, didn’t meet a grumpy Geordie, they were all very friendly and welcoming. No shortage of bars/clubs and stuff to keep you entertained.

Just back from a brilliant Hens weekend in Newcastle.
Stayed in the George Hotel. Hotel was basic but very clean and friendly. John and Meg who work in the Hotel couldnt do enough for us. Restaurant food was delicious and the breakfast was very filling. The Hotel Bar stayed open until the early hours each nite and the famous Shrek does not work there anymore. Would recommend this Hotel if your looking for a lively fun weekend. Check out Quayside where all the best bars are located P.S Newcastle has some of the best looking blokes I’ve ever seen and the accent is very sexy as well xxx

A friend of mine and I were looking for an affordable stay in Newcastle for our Xmas shopping weekend. This is exactly what we found. The rooms were very affordable, clean and a choice of warm or cold breakfast was served. All in all, the price-to-value ratio was very fair. Of course, not the Hilton, but clean rooms in a safe area close to the city centre.

Cheep and served the purpose for a great weekend near to the city centre.
Rooms are clean and plenty of room.
